HOW TO ENSURE THE CORRECT COLOR FOR YOUR PRINT?
Sometimes, you may need to order a new banner, poster, or sign to go alongside an existing one or display products printed on different materials side by side. In such cases, it is naturalt to want the colors to look exactly the same.
In digital printing, the color tone depends on several factors, primarily the material used. Even within batches of the same material, the white color tone can vary slightly, appearing more yellowish in some and more bluish in others, despite all being considered “white.” The color tone can also be influenced by the specific printing machine and the inks used, which can vary between manufacturers.
Here are some tips for ensuring color consistency in digital printing:
- Use CMYK Colors: Ensure that your design file uses CMYK colors, as digital printing relies on these color channels. RGB colors will be converted to CMYK, and this conversion may introduce small discrepancies.
- Provide Pantone Codes: If you have a specific Pantone color in mind, provide the Pantone code with your order. This is especially important when you need to match colors between different printed materials or at different times. Pantone codes allow printers to manually adjust color distribution to achieve the desired result, even when there’s no direct comparison. NB! We cannot print Pantone colors directly, but will strive to get as near as possible to the sample
In summary, use CMYK colors in your design files and include Pantone color codes when you require precise color matching, especially in situations where a direct comparison with another product is needed.
NB! To get the desired printing results, it is important that the print files are prepared according to the instructions that are listed above. Unless we are informed beforehand about a file needing to be checked or fixed, we will operate under the assumption that all files sent to us are finished print files that are made according to our specifications. We will not do a detailed check on every file that is sent to us and will not accept responsibility for faults or unintended results that are caused by improperly made printfiles. Should we notice that something is wrong with the file, then we will inform the client. Prepress checking and fixing of print files is a service that is priced at 20€ + VAT per file. Desing services are priced per case depending on the nature of the work.
